We are AUD
The AUD Collective is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit theatre collective based in Memphis. Founded in 2022 as a mutual aid initiative, AUD has grown into a producing organization with a full season, a resident troupe, an education program, and an original musical in development.
We make theatre that is accessible, communal, and audaciously Black. We develop original works, reimagine classics, invest in artists, and build creative infrastructure rooted in the community that raised us.

AUD was built for the creatives who have been overlooked, underestimated, and under-resourced. For the artists in repair and the ones steadily building. For the people who were told the stage wasn't for them. Hence AUD is pronounced "odd."

Meet our Founder
Cleavon Meabon, IV is the founder and Executive Director of AUD Collective. A Memphis-based artist, director, and writer, Cleavon founded AUD in 2022 as a mutual aid initiative and has grown it into a nonprofit theatre collective. He is a multi-passionate artist and creative with a gift for placemaking.
Cleavon's creative vision extends beyond the stage from brand identity and organizational design to education programming and community building. He leads with audacity, builds with intention, and creates with the community that supports him.
